The way this works is to post a few lines in a book that you are currently reading or just finished reading.. This comes from one of my all time favorite books called The Edge of Never by J.A.Redmerski..

Pg 416:

Andrew Parrish:
"I have never lived the way I lived during my short time with you. For the first time in my life, I've felt whole, alive, free. You were the missing piece of my soul, the breath in my lungs, the blood in my veins. I think that if past lives are real then we have been lovers in every single one of them. I've known you for a short time, but I feel like I've known you forever."

Holy Freaking SWoOoNN Moment.. I wanted to lay down with a bottle of wine, some chocolate and tissues after reading this book. It was amazing and if you haven't read this book already then I suggest you do it NOWWW!!!!

Just Remember to Breathe...

There are some books that I find that are so personal to me or a situation that I am in and I after I read it, the book will stick in my brain for a long time. A few months ago I was browsing through Amazon and  looking for a different type of book to read when I stumbled upon Just Remember To Breathe by Charles Sheehan-Miles.

This is the description of the book from Amazon...

Alex Thompson's life is following the script. A pre-law student at Columbia University, she's focused on her grades, her life and her future. The last thing she needs is to reconnect with the boy who broke her heart.

Dylan Paris comes home from Afghanistan severely injured and knows that the one thing he cannot do is drag Alex into the mess he's made of his life.

When Dylan and Alex are assigned to the same work study program and are forced to work side by side, they have to make new ground rules to keep from killing each other.

The only problem is, they keep breaking the rules.

Background on ME:

I never heard of this author before but the description sucked me in because of the mere mention of Afghanistan. Let me give you a little background on me, my husband is a Marine and he has been to Iraq three times and Afghanistan twice. While my husband came back as normal as he could, going through something like that, a lot of his buddies did not. The reason I am studying Psychology is because I want to be able to work with veterans and work on their post traumatic stress disorders because there are too many suicides resulting from this disorder... So that is why even after reading this story it stuck with me because it talks about the things in life that I will be studying and trying to help others with...

My take on this book:

Dylan is an Army war veteran coming home from Afghanistan, he survived but was severely injured not only physically but mentally. He was injured by an IED (improvised explosive device) which killed his best friend and managed to take out chunks of his leg, resulting in multiple surgeries and physical therapy. While he was recovering from surgery he decided to do something useful with his life and go to college but knew it wouldn't be easy because he also suffered from PTSD. The author does a great job in describing what a person with PTSD goes through on a daily basis, which made my heart ache for him! While attending school at Columbia he happens to run into the one girl who broke his heart and not only that, this girl was in his work study so there was no escaping her!

Alex is a pre-law student at Columbia that couldn't get over her first love Dylan. While going to her work study assignment she discovers after years that he is not only alive but he is also assigned to the same work study she is and her heart breaks all over again, knowing they would have to work together. Knowing that the work study would be unbearable if they didn't set some ground rules they decided to do just that.

The only rule that was continually broken was the "Do not talk about the past relationship". With so much unresolved issues between them, of course all they could ever think about was the past and their past relationship. Especially since their love started by a mere chance meeting in high school on a trip to another country.

The love between Dylan and Alex is so raw and emotional that I could feel it deep within my heart. I rooted for them to be together from the beginning of this story. Even with Dylan's issues, I still thought they could make anything work, if they really wanted too!

I recommend this book to anyone who loves a great love story filled with complications and drama. Also, the secondary characters in this book gave more life to it and made it a bit more humorous! I liked them almost as much as Dylan and Alex!

HERE ARE SOME TEASERs:

Pg 217:"I love you, Dylan Paris. But sometimes love by itself...it's just not enough"

Page 263: "Alex, I don't need to keep myself safe from you. I don't want to keep myself safe from you. You mean too much to me. I'd rather have a lifetime of heartache, from you breaking my heart, than even imagine my life without you. Because a life without you wouldn't be a life at all"

*Go out and read this book if you haven't already, it is definitely worth reading!!!!!*

My poor brain will need rehab after this mind f**k...

Sooooo As you all know I challenged myself and you guys to step out of your comfort zone genre and explore a new book to see what would happen.. So I stepped out of my genre, went head first, took the challenge and my book of choosing was Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.. This is not something I would normally read so to say this was a challenge is putting it nicely....

Here is the description from Amazon:
Marriage can be a real killer.
On a warm summer morning in North Carthage, Missouri, it is Nick and Amy Dunne’s fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick’s clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn’t doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams about the slope and shape of his wife’s head, but passages from Amy's diary reveal the alpha-girl perfectionist could have put anyone dangerously on edge. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media—as well as Amy’s fiercely doting parents—the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he’s definitely bitter—but is he really a killer?
As the cops close in, every couple in town is soon wondering how well they know the one that they love. With his twin sister, Margo, at his side, Nick stands by his innocence. Trouble is, if Nick didn’t do it, where is that beautiful wife? And what was in that silvery gift box hidden in the back of her bedroom closet?

Here is my take on this:
If the author was trying to completely (and excuse my language) mindfuc* me she did one heck of a job. My head was spinning the entire time reading this book.

Amy is presumed dead not being found and of course her husband Nick is the prime suspect. We have all seen the movies, watched the t.v. shows and if a wife goes missing the first person looked at is the husband. This book is no different, especially after socially awkward Nick is shown on t.v. smiling while holding a press conference and the way he is acting is totally not how a distraught husband would act after his wife is found to be missing.
I can't get into much more detail about this book because it will give away the major plot of the book.

Gone Girl was definitely not for me, I enjoyed reading it because it kept me guessing but other than that it gave me a headache and made me want to drink a bottle of wine after I was done. One critique I would give, is the author seemed to be redundant after a while especially the way the characters explained things, it got kind of old!!! Like ok I get it you own a thesaurus and know how to explain the same situation with 9 different adjectives, but it's time to move on now please!! This caused me to skip over paragraphs because I just didn't care anymore! Other than that the book was ok. I give it 3/5 stars and I would like to see the movie because I am sure the on screen version would be better because I don't have to read the characters monologues inside their heads and how to explain a certain thing with the same adjectives over and over again!

If you like thrillers with twists and turns that will completely mess with your mind then READ THIS!!!!

But as for meeee I want to curl back up with my YA-NA-Romance-Dramatic-Fictions and never leave them again!!!!

Wait for Me by Elisabeth Naughton

Ok... so did any of you guys guess this one??? It is a fairly new book- less than two years a little more than a year old. I was browsing through my personal paradise (also known as the free kindle books on Amazon) and I saw this title and it intrigued me...

Here is the description from AmazonA woman without a past…

After a tragic accident left her with no memory, Kate Alexander struggled to fit in with a husband and world that didn’t feel right. She’s had no reason to question what friends and family have told her, not until her husband is suddenly killed and she finds a photo of a young girl in his office. A girl who can’t be anyone but a daughter Kate didn’t know she had.

A man desperate for a reason to live…

Ryan Harrison lost his wife in a plane crash five years ago. To cope with the pain of her loss, he dedicated himself to his job and to raising their daughter. Now a successful pharmaceutical executive, Ryan has everything a man could want—money, fame and power—but he’d give it all up in a heartbeat for just one more day with the woman he still loves.

Two lives about to converge.

As Kate begins to dig into a past she doesn’t remember, evidence leads her to San Francisco and puts her on the path toward Ryan, a man who sees in her the woman he loved and lost. Kate feels a draw to Ryan, one she can’t explain, but is that feeling enough to convince her this is where she’s supposed to be? As Ryan and Kate search for answers, they uncover lies long buried, a passion hotter than either expected and a danger that threatens…even now…when the second chance they’ve both been searching for is finally within reach.

I read the description and I knew I had to read it so here is my synopses (ooohh I like that word its so nerdy)....
While I was reading this book I kept thinking that it should be a movie. This book would make an amazing movie if it is done right! Lifetime, ABC, Paramount, 20th Century Fox..You guys need to look into this book and put it on the big screen. But PLEASE do NOT cast Kristin Stewart!!! I can't get into much details about this book because it'll give away the big plot but here it goes....

Kate is a women who has no idea who she is, all she knows is what her husband told her. She has a four year old little boy but doesn't remember anything about her past life. She just remembers waking up and her husband telling her that she was in an accident and she had a son. When her husband is tragically killed in a plane crash she tries to look for answers that leads her back to California. When you read about Kate you want to know what happened to her as much as she does. You are left wondering what is going on and who is behind all of this misfortune that happened to Kate.

Ryan on the other hand, is a complete mess because his wife was killed in a plane crash five years prior. His daughter was the only stable thing left in his life and she pretty much had to be the adult around the house because Ryan was so lost without his wife. He became a big time drug representative,  turning his pain into something more constructive.

When Ryan and Kate meet, you will never expect what happens (ok maybe you have a feeling but it's impossible...right???) This book has many twists and turns and leaves you wondering and guessing throughout the book. It isn't until the very end that all the pieces come together and you get to the bottom of everything that happens. And it's a little mind blowing!!!

This book is remarkable I give it 4.9/5 stars, I think it is worth reading and it is only $0.99 on Amazon!!!! Can't beat that deal!! Plus if you see it on the big screen remember you heard it here FIRST!!!  ;)

Full of Fun Fridays..

Fridays used to mean so much more to me when I was younger, now I barely remember what day of the week it is anymore. I only remember it is Friday when my daughter's teacher tells me to have a good weekend, then I'm like oh ok can't bring the daughter to school for two days so that means it is Friday. Even though I barely remember, my daughter says Friday is her favorite day because her teacher lets the class have hot cocoa in class -OH to be young again-!!! I was going to write another review tonight but I have been having one of those horrible, no good, very bad days that doesn't want to end so I am going to leave you with a little teaser of the book I will be reviewing next. I wonder how many of you guys will be able to guess what it is???....

From Loc 4411..or page 223...on the Kindle:

"You made me fall in love with you. Then you took away the very trust that love was built on. How am I ever supposed to believe anything you say?"

Give you guys a hint... The author's first name is Elisabeth

SWOON Worthy Thursday

Getting involved in the Swoon worthy Thursday..

The object of the game is to pick out swoon worthy lines from a book you are reading or just finished reading and post them..

The book I chose this week is The Perfect Game by J. Sterling....I just finished reading this (again) last night....

From Loc 4637 on the Kindle:

Jack: "My heart has always been with you. Since the day you first rolled your gorgeous green eyes at me. You've always had my heart. I'm the one whose been lost without it."

Love Jack Carter...SsSSSWWooOOonNNN

My Book Review Cherry has been POPPED..

I was having a hard time deciding on the very first book that I wanted to review on here. I have a million to choose from and I didn't know which route I wanted to take so I decided on the old reliable method..Putting names in a hat and picking out a random one... I happened to pull a good one out so here it goes...

Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry.. Description from the book: "No one knows what happened the night Echo Emerson went from popular girl with jock boyfriend to gossiped-about outsider with "freaky" scars on her arms. Even Echo can't remember the whole truth of that horrible night. All she knows is that she wants everything to go back to normal.

But when Noah Hutchins, the smoking-hot, girl-using loner in the black leather jacket, explodes into her life with his tough attitude and surprising understanding, Echo's world shifts in ways she could never have imagined. They should have nothing in common. And with the secrets they both keep, being together is pretty much impossible.

Yet the crazy attraction between them refuses to go away. And Echo has to ask herself just how far they can push the limits and what she'll risk for the one guy who might teach her how to love again."..

Here is my take on this book: HOLY Freaking TEAR JERKER Batman!!!! When I read this description I wasn't all that excited about it because I figured it was another predictable story about a bad boy teenager who hates the world and he meets a girl that changes his dirty ways blah blah blah, I've read it a million times.. But this surprisingly was totally different from what I expected and when it comes to books, I love to be proven wrong!!

Echo is a girl who had something awful happen to her but she can't remember the details of what happened to her because she repressed it (total Psychology major student book boner) with the help of her counselor she is trying to regain her memory of what happened that night. The details that she reveals throughout the book are heart breaking and when she finally remembers what happens to her, you will feel a sense of sympathy and anguish because it is just too horrible to even imagine. She hides herself from the people around her, she hides her scars with long sleeves and gloves and doesn't let anyone close to her besides her best friend.

Noah on the other hand is a total badass hot guy who is a foster child with a shitty past couple of years. He lost his parents, brothers, and sense of self in a short amount of time. He has only one concern and that is being reconnected to his little brothers, they are in foster care like he is but they had to be separated because the "system" felt like Noah was a danger to everyone around him- *Eye Roll*.. Ok well he did punch someone out but the dude deserved it...

It just so happens that the counselor that is working with Echo is also working with Noah to help him have more time with his brothers. Echo and Noah's story begins when Echo is tasked to tutor Noah and when Noah blows her off he accidentally sees her scars on her arms and is horrified at what he sees. Echo freaks out and thinks Noah will tell the whole school, when he doesn't Echo becomes curious of this bad boy and starts to actually see Noah for what he really is. Noah thinks Echo is hot and he feels sorry for her but he also wants to help her but doesn't want to get close to her... This book is great I would recommend it to anyone, no matter what genre you like to read!!

Here is a little teaser from the book:

" The worst type of crying wasn't the kind everyone could see-the wailing on the street corners, the tearing at clothes. No, the worst kind happened when your soul wept and no matter what you did there was no way to comfort it. A section withered and became a scar on the part of your soul that survived. For people like me and Echo, our souls contained more scar tissue than life. " page 278

*If you haven't read this book already, I suggest you go do it!!!!!*

NEVER TOO FAR sneak peek..Posted by the Author

NEVER TOO FAR sneak peek

If you haven't read the first book, I suggest you do that NOW!!! *Warning* it will break your heart in a million pieces at the end.. I hate books that I can predict and the spinner Glines threw in Fallen Too Far, you will never see coming!!

hmmm..Challenge Accepted!!

Have you guys ever tried to find a book thats outside of your normal genre that you like to read but only go back and pick one from your genre because you know it's safe??... I usually go for the dramatic love story with a happily ever after and every once in a while I will find a book that I will love that is outside my norm.. But 9 times out of 10 I will pick something that I read all the time...One of my very good friends has convinced me to read Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn.. This is definitely outside my normal reads but she swears it's a good book so we shall see.. Any other books that you guys like to read that are outside of what you normally do? I challenge you to read something outside of your normal genre and see what happens...you might like it, you might not but hey whats a little adventure without a risk.....and you never know you might be rewarded!!!!
