{Review} Break the Sky by Nina Lane

“Do you ever let go, storm girl?” he asked. “Ever lose control? Ever surrender?”
“Never,” I whispered. “I never surrender.”
A smile of both promise and warning curved his beautiful mouth.
“You will.”

Atmospheric scientist Kelsey March is under siege. Her tornado research project is on the skids and she’s fighting conflict in her university department. So when irresistible bad boy Archer West suggests a hot, wild fling while he’s in town, Kelsey is unable to resist his sexy offer.

Kelsey and Archer embark on a intense, exhilarating affair. But soon their differences and private battles encroach on their desire, and Kelsey discovers that Archer is a storm she can’t control

OH.

My.

God....

I really loved this book!! It was original in content and not something that you read, every. single. day!

Yes, it has a hot ass Alpha, crazy, wild, passionate sex, but it also has a STORYLINE that you can quote from!!

While reading and being inside Archer's head, I actually FELT like I was inside the mind of a MAN... because, I mean, lets face it. Some authors write their male characters kind of feminine and I am usually left scratching my head on who's head I was inside; the Heroine or Heroes???...

Anyway, back to Archer...
His whole demeanor just made me lose my fucking mind... Every time he turned his Alpha on and challenged Kelsey, I was like, "Oh... here, I didn't need my panties anyway."

And boy, did they challenge each other. If Kelsey wasn't pushing him away to keep her heart protected and to find someone who was "right" for her, Archer was invading her space and not giving her the chance to retreat within herself...at all!

She pushed, he pulled her right back. She tried to hurt him, he knew what she was doing. She could not get away if she tried and he made sure she didn't try very hard...

And when he used sex as a weapon, It. Was. HOT!!!

The way he spoke to her, the things he did to her. The things she wanted him to do to her... My panties didn't even stand a chance... they were just gone...

But like I said before, this book actually had substance. They didn't spend all their time in the bedroom, their conversations were just as enlightening and they made sense. I got to see behind to masks they each wore and understand their demons. The only thing I wish I got more of was Archer. I wanted more of his issues resolved with his family. To actually read more into it, instead of it being left to my imagination. But other than that minor thing, this book was a definite A+ and I am glad I read it. Plus, I actually learned A LOT. The research put into this novel was topnotch and I could tell the author did a lot to make sure this book had the substance it needed.

This novel is a spinoff from the author's Spiral of bliss series but it can be read as a standalone. I did not read the other books and it was still easy to follow along with. AND, because of this book, I am moving the other books up a few pegs in order to learn more about this Dean West character.

Overall I give this 4.5/5 "Here... take all my panties, Archer" Stars!!!!

  1. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and review BREAK THE SKY! I'm so happy you loved Archer and Kelsey's story and can't thank you enough for your continued support. And your gifs are fantastic - not to mention I love your mention that you learned something. My husband is a meteorologist, and he helped me with all the research facts, so we both love hearing that. Thank you so much! --Nina ♥♥♥♥♥♥
