{Review} {Giveaway} Beautifully Done by Riley Mackenzie

Diagnosis: Borrowed time
Treatment: Trust
Prognosis: Beautifully Done

Asher Craig drives fast, flies high, and screws hard. But make no mistake, he’s a gentleman.

He learned way too young that we’re all on borrowed time. Fair or unfair, you only get one ride. He vows to live for the moment because it’s the only time he owns. The past is beyond his control and the future may not exist. With his only loyalties being his family, he thrives for that edge where plunging over is always in the realm of possibility.

When a beautiful familiar face tilts his axis, he re-examines everything and realizes that second chances are overrated and a lifetime of firsts are irreplaceable. In the end, it’s not her medical degree but his trust that needs to prove that the ride together is worth it ... until it’s Beautifully Done.

***Author's note***
Contains spoilers from Beautifully Awake. We highly recommend reading Chase and Lili's story first. For readers 18+

Who knew I could completely love and hate a book at the exact same time.

Confused?

You won't be when you read this book for yourself...

As I started this book, in my mind I kept saying, "ok this is a definite four stars for me". Most of the time I can tell what I am going to rate a book by the middle of it. Most of my five star reads are due to some extra factor that set the book higher than others I have read. If the book made me laugh, cry, rage in anger... just something extra... but also have all the information and details I love inside....

As I continued to read and get to the middle with all of the drama, secret revelations, and everything else... I was actually shocked... I figured out Tal's secret from almost day one and I kind of knew it even with the last book. But it wasn't what I expected after all, it was different and it threw me for a loop. SO, I continued to read at an alarming pace, just wanting to know what was going to happen in this family and where everyone was headed.. Then even more drama happens and I am like

WHY, GOD, WHY?!?! Haven't these characters suffered ENOUGH?? What the Hell is wrong with these authors??? They are like sick, twisted, humanoids that like to cut evermore deeper and then twist the knife even deeper!!

By this time, it is like 10pm and I still have a good amount left in the story so I couldn't just stop there, I would be crazy to try and sleep and not see what is going to happen.

Things start to smooth out again towards the end and then some more drama, revelations, and then finally the ending where shit finally settles down...

Oh but these authors aren't done mind fucking you yet... Nope, these sick, twisted, authors just kept the punches rolling in and BAM that Epilogue made me lose my mind...

I felt a little like this....

Some of this...

And finally...

It was all very emotional and a lot of what the fuckery going on that I just had no idea whether I loved or hated it or all of the above or what....

It had a lot of elements I loved and hated and yet even days after finishing I am still thinking about it and cursing out the authors in very colorful language that would make Jesus himself scowl!!
I LOVED Asher, LOVED him!! He wasn't as intense as Chase but he was just as swoon worthy... I just loved the whole dynamic with all the characters, loved how accepting everyone was and how fulfilling it felt to have the gang all together.

But since it left me damn near speechless I have to give this book a 5"I hate these authors just a little bit" Stars!!!

About the AuthorS

Yep. That's an “s.” There are two of us!
We’re East coast girls separated by Long Island Sound who met in Physician Assistant School and have been besties ever since. We can safely say that thirteen miles of water does not get in the way because we talk or text, no exaggeration, at least 150 times a day. No, really, we do—about everything and nothing. Shockingly, we never (we mean never) run out of things to say. Umm, ever. We definitely laugh A LOT and we’re a tad sarcastic. And if we’re being totally honest, one or two people might have, on occasion, used our names and ‘dramatic’ in the same sentence. But it’s hard to trust the sources since they married us.

It only took twelve years, two husbands, five kids, two dogs, and a two-week vacation in Cape Cod later to decide the romance world needed a splash of medicine. Write what you know.
So you can easily find us at 4 o'clock on Bank Street beach with a glass of cold Prosecco brainstorming. And guaranteed if we bump into you, literally, it’s only because our iPhones are glued to our hands (totally out of our control) either writing or editing our next novel (and yes, it is possible to do from your iPhone, we mastered it … damn those straight quotations).

When we are not working on our book or reading the latest angsty romance on our kindles, you basically name it and we have it going on. Soccer, lacrosse, golf, swimming, dance, gymnastics, football, chess, baseball, basketball, skiing, ice skating, school, homework, and more school.
Oh yeah, did we forget to mention our careers in medicine?

Needless to say, we realized fast that something had to go, so we opted for sleep. It’s completely overrated (yet so AMAZING) and delirium makes everything funnier. Good thing we share a brain and can pretty much complete each other’s sentences (definitely weird, we know).

So that’s our story, who we are … just add AUTHORS to the list!

{Review} Tamed by Emma Chase

Stop me if you’ve heard this one before: girl meets player, they fall in love, player changes his ways.

It’s a good story. But it’s not our story. Ours is a lot more colorful.

When I met Dee I knew right away that she was special. When she met me, she thought I was anything but special—I was exactly like every other guy who’d screwed her over and let her down. It took some time to convince her otherwise, but turns out I can make a convincing argument when sex is at stake.

You might know where this story’s headed. But the best part isn't where we ended up.

It’s how we got there.

Emma went and pulled a dick move with this one!! And what I mean by this, is I can't decide which asshole I love better or which one I would want to hold prisoner in between my thighs...

Matthew is a lot like Drew but not as stubborn or pigheaded. He is like the nicer of the two evils but he was just as hilarious and his story was just as wonderful. I loved being inside his mind and loved seeing all the nasty stuff he liked to do... I was definitely not disappointed! I was tempted to do the whole one-handed reading thing for a couple of those parts because ~ahem~ it was HOT!! (ok maybe I DID do the whole one-handed read... ;)

While reading Tangled, I knew I was going to love Dee because of how crazy, obnoxious, and hilarious she was in that book and we get a lot of that same behavior from her in Tamed but even better. She's crazy, smart, opinionated but very vulnerable where it matters. She doesn't take shit from anyone but she also had a lot of bad luck in the past when it came to men in her life. She's closed off and Matt just wants to open her up in both the heart and vagina... ok maybe her brain too but let's be real here, Matt is a man and men usually have one track minds...

But he was patient and persistent and it didnt hurt that he was built like a lean boxer with abs for days... My vagina's sweating just picturing him, so if Dee didn't steal him, I would have!!

I really loved how Emma went back to the parts of Tangled that always had me wondering what was going on with Matt and Dee. I only wish I would have refreshed my memory with Tangled before diving into Tamed. People don't need to do this because the books are standalones but if you have poor memory like me, then it won't hurt!

So the inevitable question is what the heck do I rate this book and my answer is simple... This book deserves 5 "hilarious, sexy, and one handed read" Stars!!!

Now, here is a little sneak peek into the crazy, sexy, ride that is Tamed...

She puts on the helmet, but doesn’t climb on the Ducati right away. She stands on the sidewalk, hands on her hips, looking thoughtfully at it. “What would you say if I said I wanted to drive your motorcycle to the party?”
“I’d say you’re shit out of luck. I don’t ride bitch.”
She knocks me upside the head—but my helmet softens the blow. “Then let me take it for a ride myself. Just around the block.”
“I . . .don’t think so.”
She pouts.
I sigh. “Have you ever driven a motorcycle before?”
“No, but I’ve always wanted to.”
“Well, I’ve always wanted to fly, but that doesn’t mean I’m gonna strap on a squirrel suit and skydive from the god damn Empire State Building.”
She steps closer, and rubs her placating hands up my chest. “Come on, please? I’ll be really careful and grateful. Really grateful. Like . . .deviantly, let you handcuff me to the bed, kind of grateful.”
Forget the national broadcast system—this is the test. Am I going to stick to my man-guns, keep my pride, and protect my cherished vehicle from almost certain carnage? Or, am I going to be ruled by my dick and swayed by the promise of kinky, have-Dee-at-my-mercy-all-night-long, sex?
No contest.

“Riding bitch, it is.”

If you want to read it for yourself there is a little link below you can press and get it now!! If you LOVED Tangled then you will LOVE Tamed too...

{Review} Five Ways to Fall by K.A. Tucker

Sometimes you can’t change—and sometimes you just don’t want to. Discover Ben’s side of the story in this fourth novel by the beloved, top-selling indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths,One Tiny Lie, and Four Seconds to Lose.

Purple-haired, sharp-tongued Reese MacKay knows all about making the wrong choice; she’s made plenty of them in her twenty-odd-years. So when her impulsive, short-lived marriage ends in heartbreak, she decides it’s time for a change. She moves to Miami with the intention of hitting reset on her irresponsible life, and she does quite well…aside from an epically humiliating one-night stand in Cancun with a hot blond bouncer named Ben. Thank God she can get on a plane and leave that mistake behind her.

Football scholarship and frat parties with hot chicks? Part of charmer Ben Morris’s plan. Blown knee that kills any hope of a professional football career? So not part of the plan. Luckily Ben has brains to go with his knockout looks and magnetism. After three long years of balancing law school with his job as a bouncer at Penny’s Palace, he’s ready to lead a more mature life—until his first day of work, when he finds himself in the office of that crazy, hot chick he met in Cancun. The one he hasn’t stopped thinking about.

If Ben truly were a smart guy, he’d stay clear of Reese. She’s the boss’s stepdaughter and it’s been made very clear that office romances are grounds for dismissal. Plus, rumor has it she’s trouble. The only problem is, he likes trouble, especially when it’s so good-looking…

Ok this is the LASSSSTTT Review that I missed last week when I was dealing with moving, and other crazy stuff going on and didn't have the time or energy to review anything!!

I read this book a while ago and I really didn't think I could love another one of K.A's books as much as I LOVED Ten Tiny Breaths. Kacey was my all time favorite female character and with her witty, sarcastic, but caring nature she was hard to beat...

Then I was introduced to Reese and I fell in love with her the same way I did Kacey! I actually LOVED her more!!

Reese is a badass who has had a lot of shit thrown at her since she was very young. It wasn't until her stepdad came back into the picture that she even caught a break. She started to thrive in her environment and then Ben comes along and turns her world upside down like most leading men do.
He straight knocks Reese on her ass and she's smitten with him ever since.. And he can't seem to get enough of her either... BUT, of course, there is too much drama in each of their lives that makes it almost impossible for them to be together...

This whole story is incredible from the very first moment we are introduced to Reese, to the very end when we see where everyone's lives are headed... I was never bored and you could not get me to put the book down AT ALL!!

I swooned, I laughed...HARD, I was pissed, frustrated... Happy!! Tucker pulled every emotion out of me and I didn't know what to do or think or where I was at... NOTHING!! I just knew that I wanted to devour this story and then read it again and again until I had almost every line memorized. There wasn't a character in this story that I didn't love (well, ok there was this one bitch but I will let you read all about her... she is not worth me writing about), there wasn't a single part of this story that I would have changed.

I loved it all!!

I just knew I would love Ben's story and I am glad him and Kacey never worked out because  Reese and Ben were truly meant to be together! So if you were always a pro-Ben person, like me, then you will not be disappointed in where Tucker took his character and I guarantee you will love this book as much as I did!!!

Overall I give this book a 5 "Reese is one badass bitch" STARS!!!!

Thanks K.A for giving us this story and I can't wait to see which characters you come up with next!!

This book is a standalone so go here and BUY IT NOW!!!!

{Review} Rusty-Nailed by Alice Clayton

In this sequel to Wallbanger, the second book in the Cocktail series, fan favorites Caroline and Simon negotiate the rollercoaster of their new relationship while house-sitting in San Francisco.

Playing house was never so much fun—or so confusing. With her boss on her honeymoon, Caroline’s working crazy long hours to keep the interior design company running—especially since she’s also the lead designer for the renovation of a gorgeous old hotel on Sausalito. So with her hotshot photographer boyfriend gallivanting all over the world for his job, she and Simon are heavy-duty into “absence makes the heart grow fonder” mode. Neither has any complaints about the great reunion sex, though! Then Simon decides he’s tired of so much travelling, and he’s suddenly home more. A lot more. And wanting Caroline home more, too. Though their friends’ romantic lives provide plenty of welcome distraction, eventually Caroline and Simon have to sort their relationship out. Neither wants “out of sight, out of mind,” but can they create their own happy mid-ground cliché?

Yet again, this review was due a while ago and I am just now getting to it because of other personal issues I had and just didn't have time until this week. Sorry Alice, I hope Clive doesn't scratch my eyes out for not doing this sooner!!

I really enjoyed Wallbanger... Like, REALLY REALLY enjoyed it. I never laughed so hard at an animal before and the people were pretty great too, especially all the banter and everything I love!

When I read Rusty-Nailed, I was a little hesitant to pick it up because nothing is ever as great as the original and I didnt want to be disappointed in the sequel. I got my happily ever after in Wallbanger and creating a sequel seemed a little pointless to me.

I was proven right in the beginning, I was a little bored and stressed out with what was happening but as I kept reading it got better and then by the end I was really glad I read it. I am not saying it was as amazing as Wallbanger because that is a HARD one to beat for me but it wasn't awful and I didnt want to DNF it because I wanted to see where these characters were headed next in their lives.

There were a lot of things I LOVED about this book and of course number one is CLIVE.. I mean, you can't read these stories and not absolutely fall in love with this little feline villain. He is easy to love, even if you really hate cats....

Next, I really love how Clayton put more of Simon's story in this book. We get a more in depth explanation to what happened to him as a kid, why he never talks about his home life, and even a peaceful resolution with him coming to terms with everything. He stops letting everything affect him and starts really living again. It's a definite change in what he was like before but I think it was for the better!

Caroline was the same in this book as she was in the last one but with bigger responsibilities. She had to take on a lot in this book and I experienced the frustration right along with her. I was tired just reading everything that she was taking on and worrying about. The sex between Caroline and Simon was just as hot and it made me want to stick Simon's face between my crotch and never let him up to breathe... Who needs air anyway?

Overall, even if I did not like this book as much as Wallbanger I feel it was just as awesome and entertaining. I am glad to see where Caroline and Simon's lives are headed and I can't wait to read more in this series because I really LOVE all these characters and I am glad I do not have to say goodbye to any of them, any time soon!!!

I give this a 4 "Clive is still my favorite pussy" Stars!!!!!

Check it out below if you want to read more about these infamous characters!

The Vixen & the Vet by Katy Regnary

Burned by an unreliable source, Savannah Carmichael, returns to her hometown of Danvers, Virginia with her once-promising journalism career in ruins. Given the opportunity to get her skin back in the game by writing a patriotic human interest piece, Savannah turns her attention to the town hermit, Asher Lee, a wounded veteran who returned to Danvers eight years ago, and hasn’t been seen since.

After an IED explosion in Afghanistan took Asher’s hand and disfigured half of his face, he's lived a quiet life on the outskirts of Danvers where the locals respect his privacy…that is, until Savannah Carmichael comes calling in a borrowed sundress and a plate of homemade brownies. When Asher agrees to be interviewed by Savannah, he starts feeling things for the beautiful reporter that he hasn’t felt in years.

Misfits in small-town Danvers, Savannah and Asher create a bond right away, touching each other’s hearts in ways neither thought possible. When a terrible mistake threatens to drive them apart, they’ll have to decide if the love they found in one another’s arms is strong enough to fight for their hard-won happily ever after.

I get an email from this amazing author about this new book she is writing... I read what it is about and think ooooo Beauty and the Beast type feeling with this one... SOLD...

She asks me to try and review by the day it comes out.. Well, I definitely READ it before that day but with moving and all that other crazy crap I had going on in my personal life I couldn't exactly review it before then... But better late than never? I guess?? I hope!! Sorry Katy, you know I LOVE you something fierce, especially after this story, and it was not intentional to wait this long to review this incredible story...

So here it goes...

Sooo picture this... a small town set in the country side with southern belles and homemade apple pies, friendly neighbors, and white picket fences. One daughter is about to say I do and the other is currently unemployed due to a two timing, evil, snake....

The unemployed daughter gets this opportunity to do a special piece to get her career jumpstarted again because it derailed and flatlined before she could even process what exactly was happening to her....

This woman then decides she is going to go find a story in this recluse of a man that lives, almost alone, up in his mansion due to personal reasons. Reasons that include him being the town monster that people want to shun because of his disfigured face, missing hand, and bummed leg. Of course, this was not from his own choosing, his disfigurement that is, it is due to the fact he decided to serve his country, honorably, and was injured in the process.

Most people would feel bad, sorry, and want to help this veteran but most of the people in this small town just wanted to forget he even existed, so this veteran gave them what they wanted...

Until Savannah steps in...

Savannah gets to know this man, spends time with him, learns his flaws, secrets, worries, and uncovers more than she ever thought she was going to learn. This man was special, trustworthy, vulnerable, and had major insecurities about the way he looked BUT with Savannah, it seemed she brought out the best in him and the beast was put away.

At one point in this story, I was waiting for the magic candelabra, clock, and tea cups to come out of hiding and start singing and dancing. This story was so much like the classic Beauty and the Beast tale but it was also a big story all on its own. PLUS, if Beauty and the Beast was as HOT, STEAMY, and SEXY as The Vixen & the Vet, I highly doubt I would have watched it growing up..because, I mean... WHOA....

It wasn't even about the sex, ok maybe it was, but it was more about the connection between the two characters that really just jumped out of the page and into my heart and vagina. I FELT the steam, I wanted to rip my clothes off along with them and I just wanted the FEELS to never go away!! It was all so swoooonnyyy...

I did guess what the fall out/ drama was going to be from almost the very beginning. Honestly, I guessed what was going to happen in this book from the beginning but that did not deter me from finishing it because this story needed to be read and needed to be experienced and I am so glad I got to enjoy it!!

I give this book a HOT 4.5 "I wanted to fan my vagina" Stars!!!

If you want to check this book out for yourself go to the link below and BUY IT!!

{Review} Changing Forever by Lisa DeJong

Title: Changing Forever (Rain 2, can be read as a stand alone)
Author: Lisa De Jong
Age Group: NA
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Cover Designer: Mae I Design
Release date: June 24, 2014

I’ve always let my past dictate my future, letting it paint a picture of exactly what I don’t want to be. Where I don’t want to end up.

Drake Chambers is as arrogant as I am stubborn. A college quarterback, a national star. I thought he was just another one of those guys … the type every girl should stay away from, but he’s carrying more than the weight of the football team on his shoulders.

He unravels the feelings and beliefs I’ve held onto for so long.

I thought we had it all figured out. Two people who’d finally found their happily ever after, but the past always has a way of sneaking into the present.

With one decision, everything changes … forever.

My Thoughts

SO This review is a little (ok a lot) late due to me moving, not having internet, then being out of town, still trying to get settled into our new home yadda yadda yadda.... It has been hectic and who would have thought that it would take me this long to get this review out... Definitely not me and I feel like a failure as a blogger because this review wasn't posted weeks ago!!
I have had it sitting on my laptop for over two weeks just waiting for life to slow down so I could post it and now it finally has!!

So here it goes....

When I first started Changing Forever I was a bit hesitant to really love it because the dual character point of view seemed kind of like the same person was "talking" and there were times I had to look back and remember which head I was inside; Drake or Emery's...

But besides that, this story really pulled me in. With the angst, the banter between the two main characters and then how everything unfolded at the end, I was seriously hooked. Plus, this one was a lot steamier than Lisa's previous novel. I was in a constant stage of sexual tension because the main characters were in a constant state of sexual frustration!!

This was probably one of the few times that I actually loved the story more than the characters themselves. Don't get me wrong, I liked Emery and Drake but I didn't love them! They frustrated me more than any two characters I have ever read... and then some!! It was a constant state of push and pull between these two and most of the time it was a push straight over the edge of a cliff!!

I wanted to scream at Drake for his constant hard-headedness and then I wanted Emery to just stop being so damn difficult and stubborn... It was too much!!

It was all very angsty and rip your hair out frustrating... BUT the ending is what made it all come together for me and gave me so many feels!!! I was swooning and cheering these people on, plus, I was glad they were working out their issues!! PLUS, PLUS, PLUS the epilogue was so sweet and fantastic!!!

Overall, I give this book a 4 "I wanted to rip my hair out and Drakes clothes off" stars!!!
